Today I’m here to show you a tutorial, for those who are creative and wants to decorate their clothes by hand!
This tutorial has been proposed by a beautiful site(everybodyisugly) and show this technique on a a pair of shorts:
Lace has been applied on the pocket of the short; the process is not too difficult. Enjoy!
Here’s what you’ll need:
– Any pair of shorts that has pockets
– Lace fabric (the lace I used is just a curtain I found at a thrift shop for $1)
– A needle and thread
– A marker/pencil
Line the edge of your fabric up with a seam of the pocket. Then, take your pen and make a dotted line on the lace fabric, tracing the edges of the pocket. This will ensure that you cut the lace fabric to exactly the size of the pocket.
Cut along the dotted line. When you’re finished, you should have a little piece of pocket shaped lace.
Line up the lace with the pocket of your shorts and begin to sew the around the perimeter of the pocket. Be really careful not to sew through to the front of your shorts. It might be helpful to put a piece of cardboard in the leg of your shorts to make sure that you don’t accidentally thread the needle through to the front of your shorts.
The final step:
Finish sewing around the perimeter of the pocket and knot and trim any leftover thread.
This technique can be applied on any kind of shorts, denims..even shirts, tops and..why not? Dresses!
